Engine Problems
Your engine's spark plugs can wear down with regular use of your vehicle, or they can become damaged. If your spark plugs need to be replaced, we encourage you to have this done right away. Otherwise, there could be ongoing issues with your vehicle that could lead to permanent damage. Our technicians will also look at your air filter to see if there's enough airflow going through it.
Brakes
If your brakes cause the shaking, you'll likely notice that the shaking occurs when you are pressing down on the brake pedal. When you lift your foot, the shaking should slow down or stop altogether. Our team of technicians will look at your brake pads to see what kind of condition they are in. While the recommended time frame for brake pad replacement is every 50,000 miles, you could have damage to your pads that are cause for concern.
Wheels and Tires
Shaking will often come from your wheels/tires. It's also common to experience a change in steering if there's a problem in this area. Watch out for issues around tight turns, shaking coming just from your steering wheel, and even an odd smell from your wheel wells. Let us know right away if there's shaking occurring. In the meantime, check your tire pressure levels, the alignment of your tires, and the tightness of your lug nuts.
Axle Concerns
Damaged axles, CV joints, and issues with your driveshaft are something we often see at our dealership's service center. While damage can occur from regular wear and tear, axles also become damaged from running over debris in the road, hitting a large pothole, etc. Keep an eye out for vibrations when accelerating or braking.
