The 8 Series stands out for its exceptional performance, no matter which engine you choose, and its high comfort level for traveling longer distances. What Are the 2026 8 Series Trims & Features?
There are three trim levels to consider in the 2026 8 Series family.
The base model is called the 840i. This trim level comes with 19-inch wheels and adaptive headlights with LED bulbs that turn as you maneuver corners. Performance brakes are also standard, along with heated side mirrors, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The 840i also comes with standard leather upholstery. As for technology with the base model, you'll get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen interface, navigation, and a head-up display. A wireless phone charger also comes with the base trim and a 16-speaker sound system.
The 840i xDrive has all the base trim features, but it comes with standard all-wheel drive. Rear-wheel steering is optional on this trim level. You will also get a fabric-covered power-folding top.
The top trim in the lineup is the M850i xDrive. This trim level features performance tires and 20-inch wheels. It also has an adaptive sport suspension system and ventilated front seats, which are a luxurious upgrade.
Several packages are available to enhance the BMW in the 2026 model year. You can get a Sport Professional package with a rear spoiler, dark brake calipers, and special exterior lights, along with a Driver Assistance package with more safety aids and a Performance Tire Package with unique wheels, high-performance tires, and upgraded front brakes.
Some standalone features are also available, including a carbon-fiber roof and carbon exterior trim accents.
How Much Horsepower Does the 2026 8 Series Have?
The standard engine on the 8 Series produces up to 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with an automatic eight-speed transmission. The M850i xDrive has a stronger V8 engine that produces 523 horsepower.
