What's New for the 2026 BMW X6?

With the continued success of the popular X6 model, BMW decided to keep everything almost exactly the same for 2026. The only real change this year is that buyers who choose the base xDrive 40i trim now have an additional color option (Tanzanite Blue), previously available only on the higher-tier M60i and M Performance trim packages.

What Are the 2026 X6 Trims and Features?

As with any BMW, the 2026 X6 offers an outstanding combination of luxury and performance, no matter which trim level you choose. All models feature heated M Sport seats, a leather steering wheel, and a 14.9-inch touchscreen center display that combines entertainment and navigation, allowing you to stream whatever you want at the push of a button. The M Sport package comes standard, but you can also upgrade any model to the M Sport Professional package, which includes enhanced exterior accents such as black chrome tailpipes, red or blue M Sport brakes, M high-gloss trim, and M Shadowline lights. With the M60i and M Performance models, you have additional options, such as genuine Merino leather seating and the Panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2026 X6 Have?

All models feature the same all-wheel drive, eight-speed automatic transmission paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The base X6 xDrive 40i is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine with 375 horsepower. The M60i model features an even more powerful 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, delivering an impressive 523 horsepower. While the M Performance model shares the same V8 engine as the M60i, it delivers a whopping 617 combined horsepower. The I-6 engine has plenty of zip and offers a fun ride that outperforms most of its competitors, but the V8 is definitely the way to go if you're in search of speed and a truly high-performance BMW.

What Safety Features Does the 2026 X6 Have?

The X6 comes standard with a range of advanced safety and driver-assistance features, including forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and BMW High Beam Assist. Buyers can also upgrade to the available adaptive cruise control with hands-free driving mode for enhanced convenience and comfort on the highway. Overall, the X6 offers the same top-tier safety and structural performance that you'd expect from a BMW.
