The 2026 BMW i4 is a luxury electric car with a few notable updates for the latest model year. In 2026, the eDrive40 trim gains additional range, making it an even more appealing choice for longer trips. This year, the previous M50 trim is now called the "M60," and it also gains more power. The i4 otherwise carries over with fast acceleration, a smooth ride quality, and an upscale cabin with user-friendly infotainment features.
What Are the 2026 i4 Trims & Features?
The BMW i4 is available in three trim levels: eDrive40, xDrive40, and M60.
The base trim is called the eDrive40. There is much to enjoy with this trim's well-rounded package. Inside, the eDrive40 features a keyless entry system, power-adjustable and heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto® and Apple CarPlay®, and a large 14.9-inch touchscreen. The eDrive40 also includes a power liftgate, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a sunroof, LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels.
The next trim up is the xDrive40. This trim has the same standard features as the base model, but it adds all-wheel drive and a second electric motor for more power and range.
Several packages are available to enhance either one of the first two trim levels. You can choose a Premium package that adds a heated steering wheel, head-up display, and Harman Kardon sound system; a Parking Assistance package with an automated parking system; or either the Driver Assistance or Driving Assistance Professional package, which adds additional safety aids. The eDrive40 is also eligible for a Dynamic Handling package with sport steering and larger wheels.
At the top of the line, the M60 features unique interior trim accents, a black exterior, and exclusive "M" wheels and an "M" steering wheel. You can get 20-inch wheels, enhanced brakes, and a unique spoiler, too.
How Much Horsepower Does the 2026 i4 Have?
The eDrive40 has one electric motor that produces 335 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The xDrive40 has two electric motors that collectively produce 396 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The M60 can reach up to 593 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque with dual electric motors.
What Safety Features Does the 2026 i4 Include?
The i4's standard safety package includes lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, and parking sensors in the front and rear.
