Over the past few years, BMW has been pushing the boundaries with their styling and technology, and their all-new full-size SUV, the BMW XM, is no different. Not only is the 2023 XM a plug-in hybrid, but it is also the first hybrid ever to sport BMW's "M" performance badge.
2023 BMW XM Performance
As mentioned, the 2023 BMW XM is a plug-in hybrid. The electric motor produces 194 hp on its own, paired up with an updated version of BMW's trusty 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 motor, which makes 438 horsepower. These two combined produce 644 hp and 590 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels (xDrive), which BMW claims is good enough for 168 mph and a 0-60 time of just 4.1 seconds. These numbers put the XM towards the top of the "performance-SUV" class!
The electric motor is powered by a 25.7-kilowatt battery with an estimated range of 30 miles of all-electric power. Of course, the lithium-ion battery has regenerative braking recharging capabilities that help store energy until it is needed. It is also reported that the battery can be charged from zero to 100% in just over 3 hours!
2023 BMW XM Interior and Trims
The impressive Curved Display, running BMW's latest iDrive 8 software, has also been incorporated into the 2023 XM, which has all the connectivity features you could ask for, like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and many more. It also features a full second row of seating. Lastly, BMW has also announced a "Label Red" trim which boasts an incredible 735 hp and 725 pound-feet of torque.
