When you purchase a new BMW, your vehicle is covered with a New Vehicle Limited Warranty that is valid for either the first four years of vehicle ownership or the first 50,000 miles that you drive. The New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers costs for replacing or repairing defective parts that breakdown during normal usage. An authorized BMW dealer will replace or repair the parts at no cost to you. All labor is covered as well.

Rust Perforation

BMW's Rust Perforation Warranty lasts up to 12 years with an unlimited amount of mileage. The Rust Perforation Warranty covers costs associated with replacing parts in the car that develop damage from rust and corrosion. The Rust Perforation Warranty is effective the first day that the vehicle is sold. The car must have repairs performed at an authorized BMW dealer to be covered through the warranty, and damage or defects must occur to original BMW parts installed by the manufacturer.

Emissions Control

BMW has an Emissions Control Warranty covering the cost of repairing or replacing all parts in the emissions system for up to two years or a maximum of 24,000 miles, whichever is first. Some specific emissions control devices are covered for up to eight years or the first 80,000 miles driven. BMW has separate emissions coverage for vehicles sold and operated in California.
