What's New for the 2024 BMW 5 Series?
BMW's popular midsize luxury sedan has been completely redesigned. It boasts a number of new features, including a beautiful BMW Curved Display and a full-glass Panoramic Sky Lounge roof. Updated engines with more power also help ensure a great driving experience. Of course, longtime 5 Series fans will immediately notice the car's sharper exterior styling.
What Are the 2024 5 Series Trims & Features?
The new 5 Series is offered in three main trim levels: 530i, 530i xDrive, and 540i xDrive. The 530i trim is seriously luxurious. Its new BMW Curved Display integrates a configurable 12.3-inch instrument cluster with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto enables you to connect your smartphone easily. Other niceties include a Harman Kardon premium audio system, voice commands, wireless device charging, and a moonroof.
Keep in mind that you have access to a long list of high-end options. For the first time, the 5 Series offers an AirConsole app. This feature allows you and your passengers to play video games on the infotainment display. Other available features include a head-up display, climate-controlled front seats, and Gesture Control technology.
While the 540i xDrive trim is similarly equipped, it packs even more muscle under the hood.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2024 5 Series Have?
The 530i and the 530i xDrive trims are motivated by a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It has been tweaked to produce a satisfying 255 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth power delivery. Underneath the 540i xDrive's hood rests a more potent 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-six engine. Output has increased to 375 horsepower, thus promoting especially strong acceleration. While the 530i trim features a rear-wheel drive setup, BMW's available xDrive AWD system optimizes traction on slippery roads. If you desire enhanced handling, take advantage of the sedan's optional M Sport suspension.
What Safety Features Does the 2024 5 Series Include?
Active Driving Assistant equips the new 5 Series with a collection of standard safety technologies. Frontal Collision Warning, Active Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Departure Warning are all included. Featuring an SOS button, BMW Assist eCall enables you to contact emergency personnel at any time.
