What's New for the 2022 BMW X2?

The 2022 BMW X2 has minimal changes from the 2021 model year, aside from minor exterior accent updates. The BMW X2 is a small compact SUV that provides luxury, efficiency, and performance in one manageable and adept package. Many features are standard with the X2, and it is available with an all-wheel drive on select trim levels to help you better handle the elements with confidence and ease. The X2 comes in multiple trims and seats five people from the base to the top trim level.

2022 X2 Trims & Features

There are three trims in the 2022 BMW X2 lineup:

sDrive28i
xDrive28i
M35i

The sDrive 28i uses front-wheel drive. It has a long list of standard features that cater to luxury and entertainment for all. The X2 has a standard power liftgate across the lineup. Automatic climate control is standard, and the base trim starts with simulated leather upholstery. The front seats are power-adjustable, and you'll get an 8.8-inch touchscreen display. Navigation is standard and includes real-time traffic updates. Apple CarPlay is included on the base level, along with a seven-speaker sound system.

Next is the xDrive 28i. The xDrive 28i has the same standard features as the base trim. It also has a panoramic sunroof and auto-dimming mirrors. A keyless entry system is added to the second trim as well, which can also be accessorized with additional style and performance amenities with a sport package.

The M35i trim level has all the contents of the previous two trims and their available packages, including upgraded wheels and a sport steering wheel. A sunroof is available with the M35i, which also has a rear spoiler, stronger brakes, and a more powerful engine. Roof rails and more advanced safety aids can be added to the M35i as standalone add-on options. Sport-tuned steering gives the M35i enhanced driving excitement and performance.

2022 BMW X2 Horsepower

The base engine for the 2022 BMW X2 is a 2.0L engine with four cylinders. The base engine on the BMW generates 228 HP, and it is paired with an eight-speed transmission. The same automatic transmission comes with a stronger engine that powers the top trim. The M35i has a turbo engine capable of 301 HP. Front-wheel drive is standard on the base trim, while the others get all-wheel drive.

The BMW X2 has lane departure warning and forward collision mitigation as its standard safety aids. A head-up display and automated parking system are available.
