A Variety of High-End Equipment

There are many available options on the 2017 3 Series, including two body styles (sedan and wagon), five trim levels (320i, 328d, 330i, 330e and 340i) on the sedan and two trim levels (330i xDrive and 328d xDrive) on the wagon. A high-powered Gran Turismo hatchback is also available.

Standard features on the 2017 BMW 3 Series in Lincoln include everything from 17-inch wheels, a 6.5-inch display screen, Bluetooth connectivity and automatic wipers to premium vinyl upholstery, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote locking and unlocking, and iDrive infotainment.

Higher trims provide even more premium features, including heated side mirrors, split-folding rear seatbacks, roof rails, a power liftgate and a panoramic sunroof, depending on the body style you choose.

Several High-Powered Engine Options

Your preferred trim level will also influence the kind of power the 3 Series demonstrates under the hood. The base 320i model comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 180 horses, while the 330i comes with a more powerful four-cylinder that bumps output to 248 horses.

The 328d is fueled by a diesel powertrain, mimicking the horsepower of the standard four-cylinder, while hybrid shoppers will love the 330e's electric motor/gasoline engine combination that generates 248 horses and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. Finally, the range-topping 340i model gets a 3.0-liter turbo six-cylinder that bumps power up to 320 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque.

The two wagon models are similarly equipped, though they use BMW's xDrive all-wheel drivetrain instead of the standard rear-wheel drive.

Family-Focused Safety Features

Typically a popular car with mom and dad drivers looking for both luxury and safety, the 3 Series has been praised by many 2017 BMW 3 Series reviews for its top safety ratings and excellent standard features, such as traction and stability control, and front and rear head airbags. Reviews also loved the 3 Series' more advanced optional amenities like rear parking sensors, emergency telematics and a rearview camera.
