Coming off of a slight refresh in 2016 and a performance boost in 2017, the 2 Series could not get much better—or could it? The upcoming model receives a few minor, but noteworthy, tweaks that are sure to make it a compelling choice for compact luxury shoppers.

The 2018 2 Series makes a brilliant first impression with its front facelift composed of a new grille, larger lower intakes and bi-LED headlights. The headlights themselves feature a new hexagonal design with daytime running light ring surrounds and integrated “eyebrow” housing. LED taillights are also standard on all models, while the BMW 230i adds LED fog lights to the roster.

On top of that, the 2 Series color palette has been expanded to include three new choices: Mediterranean Blue Metallic, Seaside Blue Metallic and Sunset Orange. These eye-catching hues are sure to pair nicely with the model’s four new available wheel designs.

Inside, the 2 Series freshens up with new contrast stitching, as well as gloss black trim along the center stack and console. Several new interior color choices are available, depending on what upholstery is outfitted, including Black and Red, Black and Oyster, and Cognac.

On the tech side, the coupe is outfitted with the latest iteration of iDrive infotainment programming, with improved Voice Controls and available Apple CarPlay smartphone integration.

The 2018 BMW 2 Series continues to be offered in coupe and convertible body styles, as well as two distinct trims: 230i and M240i. All other features and equipment, including last model year’s powertrain updates, carry over unchanged.
