Evolved Design Language

BMW X3 taillight

The 2018 X3 is recognizable yet refreshed, showing off wider headlights, larger lower intakes and new LED accent lighting in the headlights, as well as a larger version of BMW’s iconic kidney grille. In the back, the X3 trades in last year’s angular taillights for more sculpted ones, giving it a more elegant impression.

Powerful New Engines

Standard models of the 2018 X3 will come equipped with a punchy 2.0-liter turbo-four, which makes an impressive 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles and all-wheel drive are standard.

Exclusive on the new X3 M40i is a rip-roaring, 3.0-liter turbo V6 engine. This powerplant also comes paired with the eight-speed, which sends 355 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque to the wheels.

Innovative Convenience and Safety Tech

A new 10.25-inch touchscreen display, BMW Gesture Control, ParkNow parking assistance and a color head-up display have also been added to the options list for those seeking a more advanced human machine interface.

On the safety side, the X3 will debut with BMW’s semi-autonomous Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, which will be able to control the vehicle in select driving scenarios, including stop-and-go traffic. Additionally, buyers will have the option to equip their model with Active Blind Spot Protection, Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation, Active Lane Keeping Assistant with Side Collision Avoidance and Daytime Pedestrian Protection, just to name a few.

New M40i Performance Model

The first-ever M Performance model arrives this model year, equipped with the aforementioned engine and a variety of other exclusive features. From its athletic, aerodynamic design and black chrome-tipped exhaust system to its upgraded brakes and sport-tuned suspension, driving enthusiasts are sure to appreciate everything this new model has to offer.
